Zimbabwe Electoral Support Network (ZESN)

The Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) is a network of non-governmental organisations formed in 2000 to co-ordinate activities related to the promotion of democratic processes, particularly free and fair elections. It was established to standardise civil society’s approach to election-related methodology in Zimbabwe as well as to ensure wider geographical coverage and co-ordination of activities.

ZESN is the current host for the Southern African Development Community - Election Support Network (SADC-ESN) - a regional network of 15 non- governmental organisations working in the area of elections in the SADC region. Its mission is to promote democratic elections in the SADC region through networking of domestic observer groups. It aims at building capacity of individual members and establishing regional best practices, through mutual reinforcement and dialogue.
