Validation Workshop on Addressing Electoral Integrity in Africa

Validation Workshop on Addressing Electoral Integrity in Africa

On 23 September 2015 EODS participated in a workshop on ‘Addressing Electoral Integrity in Africa’, which took place in Johannesburg and was organised by the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA).

The intention of the Electoral integrity project is to look at ways of improving electoral assessment by pan-African organisations and many of these participated in the conference. The project tasked researches to look at case studies in the different African regions and to compare the available election observation reports, their recommendations, and what, if any, changes the recommendations in these reports had achieved.

The report concluded with 10 main recommendations for improving the quality and consistency of election observation reports across the region, which were largely agreed by the group.
