A training for the core team position of Political Analyst in European Union Election Observation Missions (EU EOMs) was organised by Election Observation and Democracy Support (EODS III), from 28 February until 3 March 2023, in Brussels. The group of 12 participants from EU Member States included nationals from Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. The training prepared participants to carry out the responsibilities of a Political Analyst on an EU EOM, including conducting an assessment of the election campaign and analysing political and campaign finance in line with international and regional standards for democratic elections and national legislation, paying special attention to possible misuse of state resources. The training also included consideration of the online election campaign.
