Following their assessment on the LTO training, 15 of the participants and one additional person were selected to be trained as possible core team members specializing as Election/Legal analysts. The curriculum was developed again between DEAU, EISA and EODS using most of the same trainers as for the LTO training.
There was a focus on AU regional legal framework for elections as well as on effective work practices and report writing skills. A number of written exercises were used in each training as well as simulation and work group exercises. The development of the analytical skills of the participants was marked between the LTO course work and the Legal/Election Analyst coursework, demonstrating the value of the program.
The course agenda has been reviewed following participants feedback. The final curriculum will be used to train Francophone election/legal analysts later in the year.
