The purpose of this five-day training was to acquaint the participants with the issue of political finance and the relation between money and politics. The goal of this workshop is to train future campaign finance analysts with EU election observation missions (EOMs, ensuring that the participants had a good understanding of the importance of political finance and a good knowledge of international standards and good practices pertaining to political finance. Cases from all around the world were used throughout the training in order to help the participants get into the mindset of political finance monitoring and understand the different concepts involved.
The training combined presentations, discussions and case studies. In addition to this, there were reporting exercises aiming at developing participants’ skills in line with EU EOM reporting requirements.
