EODS attends the 14th European Electoral Management Bodies Conference in Saint Petersburg

Possible Improvements in organization of elections with a special focus on efficiency, professionalism and accountability of election administration were discussed during the 14th European Electoral Management Bodies Conference which took place in St Petersburg on 15-16 May 2017. The participants concluded that the way in which EMBs function is key to ensure democratic elections and underlined the need for their transparency, political balance and impartiality. The meeting was organized by the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe together with the Central Election Commission of Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Some 100 election administrators and observers took part including European Parliament and EODS.
